Not the movie silly. Songs!

Hard to believe I've now got 8 whole songs and one dismantled half song done.

The half thing was at one time a four and a half minute track. Sort of an epilogue to a song we'd done, taking a more tracky, instrumental approah. Through the efforts of my team of highly trained specialists, I was convinced to trash the majority of the tune and just keep the intro to maybe use as a transition or interlude or something vaguely, dangerously Pink Floydish...except the thing sounds more like something Stevie Wonder would have done in the 70s than anything PF did...not to say that this thing is anything on a par with The Musical Genius (any Eddie Murphy fans in the house today?).

Either way, being even a half a percent what Stevie Wonder was=good. Being half a percent what Pink Floyd was=err, not so good, unless you're talking about Saucerful of Secrets or Piper at the Gates of Dawn or stuff like that. That's the only PF I can really listen to these days. All the rest of that leaden Important Rock® is just so ponderous and fraught and...I dunno...just swollen like a drowned water buffalo.

Err...sorry. When it's 100 degrees in May and your house is still hovering in the upper 80s at 1 in the morning, the grey matter starts doing weird things.

Anyway, eight(ish) true songs down, two more to go, then one easy instrumental thing, and two quick ambient bits, and. I. am. done.
