CycleKraft

Finally, as a great vindication of my absurd passion for both electronic music and bicycle racing, and where the two meet, I give you the updated Kraftwerk site.

Kraftwerk: king among men of electronic music. The Tour de France: king of bicycle races. It now appears that the two have officially merged.

Brilliant!

Be sure to get all the way through the site. There's more there than is obvious on first glance. It's just great if you're a devoted cycling fan, in addition of course to being a Kraftwerk fan.

You are a Kraftwerk fan, jah?

[nod to my friend Steve for the tip]

I was going to mail you after their concert in Seattle Monday... the projections during "Tour De France" were just amazing. Vintage tour footage of a helmetless 1950s peloton barrelling down mountainsides.

Not to mention the Kraftwerk cycle jerseys at the merch table.

Are you kidding me? Holy fucking shit...I...I...I don't usually give a rat's ass about merch of any kind, but holy mother of all that's whatever I need one...seriously.

Any idea how I can get one? I didn't see anything like that on the site.

How were they BTW?

They're playing the Coachella clusterfuck this weekend. I won't be there. My days of festivals and seventeen radical gear changes in music in one day are way behind me.

Oh, also, I'd kill to hear/see them and do it with such projections. Awesome.

Reminds me of the movie Amelie, with that wonderful scene of I think Bahamontes in the Alps.

If the stars/moon/whatever aligns, I'm going to try to catch some of the Tour this summer...oh wait...we talked about this.
