The site and associated email will disappear from the net right about now. It may come back one day, when conditions in the music world change and I can get a P&D deal that will honor my vision, but for now, hasta la vista. I could compromise, as I've often been counselled to do, but...I can't. I will not release stuff that I'm not less than 100% behind just to sell units. Pretty simple rule really. Maybe I'm dumb, and I should compromise, as I could make some money. It would be easy. But...I dunno...I can't bring myself to do it. I'm all for mixing art and commerce when possible, but I'm just not interested in building a label profile on the back of material that I'm not fully committed to.
What's dumber is that I've continued to pay for something that's been essentially useless for over a year. Maybe putting in the cancellation order was the sign that I'd truly thrown in the towel...and I've wanted to pretend that it wasn't done and put off that order.
Until today.
Anyway, I'm tired of getting emails in broken English from people in former Soviet republics and Italy trying to interest me in their music when their stated goals are a career in "Hillywood" composing music along the lines of Mariah Carey or Britney Spears.
