Anyone want to be my indirect neighbor and buy a house? It's a beautiful lot with a very sweet little house; kind of a cottage, which is typical for this area. If you know Mt. Washington and all the little, old houses here, you know the vibe. You'd be surrounded by trees and open space on all sides, incredibly private, with me being your closest neighbor down one side of the hill from you. The house is on a 7,500 sq. ft. lot, and it's the bottom of that lot that runs down alongside my house.
Why am I asking? I can't afford to buy it, and I'd love to have a great neighbor...and I'm really terrified that some evil speculator or crass party-crasher is going to move in and build a monster house next to me. It wouldn't be the first time someone's tried it. Luckily, for the most part, residents here are pretty protective of the space and atmosphere, and you don't see too many modern stucco beasts going up. Help make it happen so that my bedroom continues to look at nothing but trees and flowers...and not a towering stucco wall.
I'm serious by the way. I'll put you in contact with the realtor, and I can give you all kinds of inside information on the area that might be hard to find out from a realtor. I'm a sterling neighbor--quiet--and I know all my other neighbors. It's a real neighborhood. We even drink together sometimes!
UPDATE: Shockingly, the house is already in escrow, and was sold at a price that's still got me picking my jaw up off the floor. I've been assured though by the realtor that the buyer is a nice lady who's not interested in building a stucco monster...just in refinishing the house consistent with the local vibe. Whew...
If it doesn't close, I'll repost at that time. Thanks for the inquiries though!
