The saga of the studio

For those wondering what the hell is going on with the hobbit hole downstairs, until yesterday, it all stalled again. You see, the big hang up was, I backtracked on my plans, and decided to build real, serious bass traps. My home-brew ones have some effect, but it's not adequate. So, I bit the bullet and obtained plans for serious membrane traps, got the materials I needed (sans plywood; I'm still having transport issues with that) and built a whole pile of frames. Then I had to wait a week to get someone to help me mount them. One person can't do it alone.

My excellent friend Dave came by yesterday and finally--FINALLY!--after a week of waiting--I got started. We hung the two most difficult ones on the ceiling. I have quite a few more to do, but those were the toughest ones.

So...no real idea yet when exactly I'll be done (again!), but at least I feel like I've got some momentum back, so that's good.

P.S. Analytic: these traps are the same ones I sent you the link for; the panel traps.

P.P.S. Analytic: the mind reels!

I suggest you christen your bass cavern with Submerged -- Down the Drain.

Put a keg-cooler in there and you'll be set for life.

Haven't heard it; only recent stuff I've heard are the clips for the Offshore/Ohm subscription series.

What's it like?
