shots on goal

. . .

Grrrr.

Hopefully, this site should be working a little more smoothly now. I know some of you have had problems accessing it from time to time. My outbound smtp mail server was also dead. Now it's alive again, but what's most interesting is that the real problem lay with my ISP, Earthlink. Seems Earthlink decided to stop allowing access to third party servers via port 25 (standard for smtp servers), and didn't bother to tell their customers. Thanks scientology assholes. It didn't help that until tonight, no one I talked to at tech support at my hosting service seemed to have a clue that maybe I wasn't in fact crazy and that it wasn't in fact their fault. For fuck's sake man, if after four phone calls the customer is still complaining--and growing ever more angry--you'd think you'd take the initiative to actually do some research and talk to some old hands who know about these things, rather than just close the ticket and return an email to the customer saying "oh, everything's just fine here. It all works. Your ticket is closed. Thanks!"

Yeah, and my shit still doesn't work.

Well, thanks to Alan--the first person I've talked to who actually seems to know something--now it works, and all I had to do was change my smtp server setting in Outlook. That's it. Coulda done that eight days ago when it all first went to hell.

Yeah. Thanks Earthlink. I should charge you for the six hours of my life I wasted.

In other news, you all know I don't care about baseball, but I went across the street just in time to watch the Cubs' spectacular meltdown in the eighth inning. My neighbor and I both agree that it's my fault. I inadvertently cursed the Cubs. I should never have turned off the radio, forsaken my personal idols, grabbed a bottle of bourbon and gone across the street.

I'm sorry Chicago. It wasn't that idiot's fault in the first row. It was mine.

Hi PK,

I used your trefusis remix in a mix the other day. I went in with Sonic and Silver -- Rocket Launcher and came out with London Elektricity's Different Drum. Worked like a charm.

Peace out

Thanks Bummy! Much appreciated.

If you dug that release be on the lookout for the next BBS single; out in November I think. "Proof" b/w "Saturnine."

Cheers!
