Got back home yesterday afternoon and ended up having an unexpected drive around Little Tokyo with Brock and Alex. We had noodles at Mr. Ramen and then went to Yaohan so Alex could buy some candies. It was a nice outing, and a real smooth transition from SF back home.
SF was, in parts, the usual, and not the usual. Great people, good times, good drink, just the right amount of silliness, and lots of robust conversation. The city itself continues to feel like a place on the decline: decadent, self-absorbed, and suffering from delusions of grandeur.
The party was, well, colorful. I had a great time, all things considered. Even perhaps a better time than I might have had had the party gone to plan. Thank you to Dave, Kara, Fife, and all the other people who worked hard to make it all happen, and to everyone I met: you were too kind!
It was also cool to get back up to Future Breaks FM on KUSF. It's been over three years. Thanks to Ethan and Emily for the invitation.
Unlike the drunken giddiness that followed the road trip, today I'm just groggy. I'm not even sure what's first on the agenda here. Maybe errands. Then building.
More soon!
