. . .

A job well done

Two jobs actually. (And some information for those of you who ended up at this site looking for information on "marbelized plaster")

First was by the two guys who plastered my walls downstairs. They are the greatest testimonial there is for paying for what you get: it's not cheap, but those walls are hands down the most handsome, fine walls I recall seeing in a long, long time, and much harder and more durable than anything made with drywall. There is no way I could have done that. True skill. It also makes me realize how your typical taped drywall wall is kind of the middling consumer compromise wall, far from the ultimate wall. Good workmanship combined with a superior plaster like USG's Imperial Brand Finish Plaster will make the ultimate wall.

Proof (i.e., if it's good enough to hang Picasso on, it's good enough for me!).

Second was by the guy I talked to on USG's Architectural Hotline. It seems like it's geared mostly towards architects, contractors, and pros, but he was more than happy to field my lengthy questions about Imperial plaster, and what to seal it with, and just general questions about the process. He was deeply informed about anything at all I asked him, very patient, courteous, friendly...the consumate customer service professional. Also, I wasn't on hold for more than 30 seconds. Would that every company had CS on that level. It also turns out that I'm not the only nut to like the finish of this plaster so much that I'd rather just seal it than paint it. Hence my call for a recommendation, since the retailors I talked to where clueless about this particular product and how to treat it.

Comments
