Postals in yellow

Lance Armstrong's US Postal Team just won today's 69 km team time trial in convincing fashion, with the added bonus of putting Victor Hugo Pena in yellow.

Well done!

Kudos to Tyler Hamilton who bravely continues to ride with a broken collar bone sustained in a crash on stage one. His team finished tenth.

UPDATE: Wow. The US Postal team now holds the first nine places in the overall classification. Even finer for the team is Pena's yellow jersey, the first ever for a Columbian. All this on the back of a convincing defeat for Team ONCE, who have been the team to beat in the team time trial for the last several years. Things couldn't be better for Armstrong at this early point in the race. A teammate is in yellow with a 33 second lead over the nearest serious rival, Joseba Beloki (ONCE). Armstrong himself doesn't carry the burden of the jersey, so for the moment, I think the team can ride defensively, forcing their challengers to go on the attack, which they surely will.
